Why we recycle

VERANDI wants to make a difference, face the facts and be a part of the solution.

The idea of taking waste and turning it into effective, results-driven skincare products grew out of our concern for the environment and mother earth and our hope for reducing food losses and waste.

We have been aware of the huge amount of resources that ends up as waste within the agriculture and food industry here in Iceland, for years. We thought of how sad it that we are producing high quality food only to end up in landfills and that will turn into harmful methane harming our self and the planet.

Instead of looking at this as waste we saw it as valuable raw materials and ingredients. Like the saying “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” we thought this could be a big opportunity in repurpose materials into beauty products.

The more food we waste, the more food we need to produce. This constant need to produce more puts additional pressure on the environment – so by using what has already been produced we don’t have to take more from nature then needed.

VERANDI believe that small actions can lead to big change and therefore we put all our love and passion into our work to make the best product for your skin and the planet.  

We are all responsible for the issue of food waste and our individual actions make a difference so this is something we should all be aiming at. Together we can make the world a better place.
